Sarz, Ozedikus, DJ Kaywise open up on exploitation by musicians

Nigerian producers Sarz, Ozedikus, and DJ Kaywise have spoken out about being exploited by some musicians in the industry. Sarz revealed that several popular artists made music with him without paying, prompting him to demand fair compensation.

Ozedikus shared a similar experience, claiming an artist refused to pay him and denied him production credit after he produced over 30 songs in just two months. DJ Kaywise also recalled being promised a record deal by rapper Eldee The Don in 2012, which never materialized despite him producing over 1,000 mixtapes.

Kaywise explained that the setback motivated him to remain independent, a choice he says is now beginning to pay off. Eldee The Don has not responded to Kaywise’s claims.

The conversation highlights ongoing challenges for producers and DJs in Nigeria’s music scene, where unfair treatment and lack of recognition remain common issues.
