US urges Embassy Staff in Israel to depart ‘Today’ amid possibility of war with Iran

The United States has advised non-essential embassy staff in Israel to consider leaving immediately as tensions with Iran rise. Mike Huckabee told personnel that anyone planning to depart should do so “today,” stressing the step was precautionary and not a cause for panic.

The United States Embassy Jerusalem earlier approved the departure of non-essential workers and family members. Officials warned that commercial flights could become limited if the security situation worsens.

At the same time, the US is strengthening its military presence in the region. The USS Gerald R. Ford carrier strike group is expected near Israel, while F-22 fighter jets have reportedly been deployed as part of broader preparations.

Diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran continue but remain tense. Donald Trump has been briefed on possible military options, even as negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme push for strict limits and facility dismantlement.
