Alleged payroll fraud: Osun APC asks Adeleke’s Chief of Staff to resign

The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has called on Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, Chief of Staff to Governor Ademola Adeleke, to resign over alleged links to a N13.7 billion payroll fraud. The party said the controversy has embarrassed the state government.

In a statement signed by Kola Olabisi, the APC accused Akinleye of damaging public confidence. The party referenced claims circulating online, including allegations made by a consulting firm executive and a leaked audio said to involve the Chief of Staff.

The opposition party also criticised the leadership style of the current administration, alleging weak management in key areas of governance. It compared Akinleye with past Chiefs of Staff, saying there was no similarity in performance or experience.

The APC insisted that stepping down would be the best decision to protect the integrity of the office. However, there has been no official response yet from Akinleye or the Osun State Government regarding the resignation demand.
