Six worshippers were abducted by gunmen during a church service at a Celestial Church of Christ along the Uso/Owo expressway in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The incident occurred in the early hours of the day, according to the police.

Ondo State Police spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that the victims were taken to an unknown location. Security operatives, working with the Nigerian Army and local vigilantes, quickly launched a rescue operation.

The police said one of the kidnapped worshippers has been rescued through joint efforts. A suspected informant connected to the attack has also been arrested and is assisting with investigations.

Authorities assured residents that efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the remaining victims and arrest those responsible. The police urged the public to stay calm and provide useful information to security agencies.
