King Harald of Norway, 89, rushed to hospital during royal’s winter holiday in Spain

King Harald V of Norway, 89, was rushed to Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur in Tenerife during a private winter holiday due to infection and dehydration. The Royal Palace stated his condition is satisfactory given the circumstances.

The monarch, Europe’s oldest sovereign, celebrated his 89th birthday recently and is accompanied on holiday by his wife, Queen Sonja, 88. His personal doctor is set to travel to Tenerife to support local health services.

Harald has experienced similar health issues before, including a previous incident in Malaysia two years ago. Despite his frail health, he has consistently ruled out abdicating, citing a lifelong oath to the Norwegian parliament.

The royal family is also facing public scrutiny, with Crown Princess Mette-Marit linked in documents to Jeffrey Epstein and her son, Marius Borg Hoiby, currently on trial in Oslo over multiple serious charges.
