The Ogun State Government has denied claims that it endorsed Prince Ademorin Aliu Kuye as the next Awujale of Ijebuland, describing such reports as false and misleading. The government stressed that it does not interfere in traditional succession matters.

According to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hazmat Ganiyu, the selection of a new Awujale follows established laws, procedures, and customs, and any claims of government approval via an Ifa oracle are untrue.

The government also revealed that the succession process has been temporarily suspended following multiple complaints, allowing for a review to ensure transparency, legality, and fairness for all aspirants.

Ogun State authorities urged the public to rely solely on official statements and avoid spreading unverified information that could create tension, reaffirming their commitment to peace and due process.
