Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong has cautioned against allowing Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to take over leadership of the Adamawa APC after his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party. Hong described such a move as unfair to members who have nurtured the party over the years.
Hong praised Nuhu Ribadu as the natural leader of the Adamawa APC, highlighting his long-term contributions and sacrifices for the party. He said outsiders should not usurp leadership positions meant for committed members.
He emphasized that the Adamawa APC is a strong political structure across all 21 local government areas and is capable of reclaiming power in 2027 without compromising its integrity. Hong also explained his own defection from the PDP was in the interest of development and aligning with a platform capable of delivering results.
The state APC chairman, Shuaibu Idris, assured Hong of equal rights and opportunities within the party, signaling a smooth integration despite initial concerns over leadership disputes.
