Amotekun arrests 95 suspects over kidnapping, burglary, illegal mining in Ondo

The Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun, has arrested 95 suspects in Ondo State over alleged involvement in kidnapping, burglary, and illegal mining activities. The arrests were made during a series of coordinated security operations carried out across different parts of the state.

According to officials, the operation targeted criminal hideouts and areas known for illegal activities. Several suspects were apprehended in connection with kidnapping cases, while others were linked to house break-ins and unlawful mining operations. Authorities said the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to restore safety and protect residents.

Amotekun commanders in Ondo State stated that the suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will be handed over to the appropriate agencies for prosecution where necessary. They also reiterated their commitment to working closely with other security outfits to tackle crime and maintain order.

Residents have welcomed the arrests, describing them as a positive step toward strengthening security in the state. The security outfit urged members of the public to continue sharing useful information, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in the fight against crime.
