In a shocking case from Umuokoro, Imo State, two brothers, Lucky Amadi and Uzoma Amadi, have been arrested for allegedly killing their elder brother, Orindu Amadi, around 16 years ago. The crime came to light after skeletal remains were discovered in an abandoned family building, exposing a long-hidden family secret.
The brothers reportedly killed Orindu during a dispute in 2010 and concealed his body in an unfinished structure within their compound. For over a decade, they misled family, friends, and neighbors, claiming Orindu had traveled abroad and lost contact. Their deception remained undiscovered until February 10, 2026, when another sibling returned after a long absence and suspected foul play.
Acting on his suspicion, the returning brother uncovered Orindu’s remains buried under debris. Authorities from the Imo State Police Command were called, and forensic examinations confirmed the skeleton belonged to Orindu. Lucky and Uzoma were immediately detained and are undergoing interrogation as police continue their investigation into the decades-old crime.
The shocking revelation has left neighbors stunned. Residents expressed disbelief at the deception within the family, highlighting the tragedy and secrecy surrounding Orindu’s disappearance. Police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward to ensure justice is served.
