Valentine: Loving Nigeria is to promote free, fair election, reject corruption – Peter Obi

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has shared a Valentine’s Day message urging Nigerians to express love for their country through action. He stated that loving Nigeria involves promoting free and fair elections and rejecting vices such as corruption, greed, division, and mediocrity. Obi shared the message via his verified X account on Saturday.

Obi emphasized that love is not just emotion but requires sacrifice, discipline, and commitment to what is right. He encouraged citizens to support leaders with capacity, character, and dedication to the common good, highlighting that patriotism also involves pointing out faults while proposing solutions.

He reminded Nigerians that a nation, like a living being, flourishes when nurtured with care and dedication. According to Obi, where corruption destroys opportunities, integrity restores them, and where division creates conflict, unity fosters progress.

The former presidential candidate concluded that Valentine’s Day is a reminder to embrace love that strengthens families, communities, and the nation. He urged Nigerians to translate love into tangible action, saying that a new and better Nigeria is possible when love guides development, justice, and human values.
