Tinubu set to embark on visit to kebbi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to pay a one-day official visit to Kebbi State on Saturday. During the trip, he will inaugurate several projects completed by the state governor, Nasir Idris. The visit was confirmed in a statement released by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

As part of his itinerary, the President will also attend the 61st edition of the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival as the special guest of honour. The festival is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most prominent cultural celebrations, drawing visitors from across Nigeria and beyond.

The Argungu Festival is traditionally held along the riverside of Matan Fada and showcases rich cultural heritage, including fishing competitions, traditional music, and local crafts. It has gained international recognition for preserving indigenous traditions and promoting tourism.

Observers note that the President’s visit highlights the Federal Government’s support for cultural heritage and infrastructural development at the state level. The event is expected to attract dignitaries, tourists, and residents eager to witness both the project inaugurations and the colourful festival activities.
