Tinubu, Shettima meet World Bank delegation at State House

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima have met with a senior delegation from the World Bank at the State House in Abuja. The meeting took place on Tuesday and reflects ongoing engagement between Nigeria and international development partners.

The World Bank team was led by the Managing Director of Operations, Anna Bjerde. The visit was confirmed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who shared the update on social media.

Although full details of the discussions have not been made public, the meeting is believed to be part of broader talks on economic development, financing, and reforms. Such engagements are common as Nigeria works to strengthen cooperation with global financial institutions.

The meeting comes just two days after a similar World Bank visit to Lagos, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted the same delegation at the Lagos House, Marina. That earlier meeting also included Ethiopia Tafara, the International Finance Corporation’s Regional Vice President for Africa, highlighting the growing level of engagement with both federal and state governments.
