Nigerian govt released N2.45trn to states, FCT between March 2024 to August 2025 – Tinubu’s aide

The Federal Government has released a total of ₦2.45 trillion to Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) between March 2024 and August 2025. This was disclosed by President Bola Tinubu’s spokesperson, Daniel Bwala, who said the funds were provided to support key infrastructure and security projects across the country.

According to Bwala, the money is being used to repair roads and bridges, improve schools and healthcare facilities, and strengthen security operations in different communities. He explained that the interventions are focused on areas where the need for government support is most urgent.

Speaking on social media, Bwala noted that federal support for states is a common practice around the world. He pointed out that countries like the United States regularly provide funds to state and local governments to help with infrastructure, education, healthcare, and public safety. India and other developed economies also rely on similar central government grants.

Bwala added that the funding aligns with President Tinubu’s 2025 Budget of Restoration, which prioritizes security, infrastructure, health, and education. He said the goal is to ensure transparency, create jobs, improve living standards, and strengthen cooperation between the Federal Government and state governments for a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
