Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has shared his excitement after completing a permanent transfer to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid. The move, which was confirmed on Monday, ends his four-and-a-half-year stay with Italian side Atalanta and marks a new chapter in his career.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international chose Atletico Madrid ahead of interest from Turkish club Fenerbahce. He has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the Wanda Metropolitano until June 2030, becoming part of Diego Simeone’s squad for the coming seasons.

Speaking to Atletico Madrid’s official website, Lookman described the move as a blessing and praised the club’s stature. He said joining Atletico feels special, noting that it is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and a place he is proud to be.

Lookman also acknowledged the challenge ahead, having played previously in England, Germany and Italy. He said adapting to a new league, country and language excites him, adding that he is ready to give his best and embrace the opportunity in La Liga.
