The Opta SuperComputer has boosted Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League after Manchester City were held to a 2-2 draw by Tottenham Hotspur. The result has shifted the title race strongly in favour of the Gunners as the season heads into its final stretch.
According to the latest prediction, Arsenal now have a 91.01% chance of lifting the league title. This would be their first Premier League triumph since the famous 2003/2004 Invincibles season. Mikel Arteta’s side strengthened their position with a convincing 4-0 win over Leeds United, opening a six-point lead at the top of the table.
Manchester City’s title hopes have dropped sharply, with the SuperComputer giving Pep Guardiola’s team just a 5.49% chance of retaining the crown. Aston Villa are also still mathematically in the race, though with a modest 3.25% probability of finishing as champions.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Chelsea are outsiders, each handed a 0.11% chance of winning the league. With 13 matches still to be played, surprises are possible, but the data suggests Arsenal are now firmly in control of the Premier League title race.
