Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has hinted that he may soon formally join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The former Chief of Defence Staff made this known during an interview on Sunday Politics, a programme aired on Channels Television, where he spoke openly about his current political position.
According to Musa, he is still in the process of transitioning into active politics. He expressed appreciation to the APC for providing him the opportunity to serve first as Chief of Defence Staff and later as Minister of Defence. He noted that this support has influenced his thinking about aligning fully with the ruling party.
The Defence Minister also stressed the need to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the President requires total backing to succeed. Musa stated clearly that he is ready to give Tinubu his full support in any capacity, describing loyalty and cooperation as important for national stability and progress.
While he clarified that he has not officially joined the APC yet, Musa said his intention is clear. He explained that his political journey is still unfolding but confirmed that becoming an APC member is very likely, signaling a shift from a purely military background into partisan politics.
