Twelve clubs have been officially eliminated from the Europa League following the conclusion of the group phase matches played on Thursday night. The final standings confirmed which teams failed to make it into the knockout rounds of the competition.
The teams that dropped out include Young Boys, Sturm Graz, FCSB, Go Ahead Eagles, Feyenoord, Basel and RB Salzburg. Others are Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Malmo, Utrecht, Nice and Rangers. These clubs finished outside the qualification places and could not progress further in the tournament.
Young Boys narrowly missed out on qualification as Brann claimed the final playoff spot for the knockout stage. Brann advanced on goal difference, pushing Young Boys down the standings and out of the competition in a tight finish at the bottom end of the table.
According to the new Europa League format, teams that finished between 25th and 36th on the log are fully eliminated. Unlike previous seasons, they will not drop into another European competition, marking the end of their continental journey this season.
