The All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, of a smooth return to Government House in the 2027 general elections. The assurance came from the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, during the formal defection of Mutfwang to the APC on Tuesday in Jos.

Prof. Yilwatda expressed confidence in the governor’s political future, stating that the APC would ensure his re-election with strong backing from President Bola Tinubu. “Governor Caleb Mutfwang, I can assure you that come 2027, we will return you to Government House,” he said.

He encouraged the governor to partner with President Tinubu to advance Nigeria’s development, emphasizing the party’s commitment to providing all necessary support for a successful campaign. “I will stand by you, support you, and ensure that everything it takes to bring you back to Government House, we will do,” Yilwatda added.

The formal defection marks a significant political move in Plateau State ahead of the 2027 elections, consolidating APC’s position in the state and reinforcing the party’s efforts to strengthen its influence at both state and national levels.
