Nigeria’s Super Eagles recorded an impressive outing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, finishing the tournament with standout statistics that underlined their strong performance despite not winning the title. Under the guidance of coach Eric Chelle, the team showed attacking strength, tactical control, and consistency throughout the competition.

The Super Eagles were officially confirmed as the highest-scoring team of the tournament, netting a total of 14 goals. Their attacking display was one of the highlights of AFCON 2025, with goals coming from different players and situations. This attacking efficiency made Nigeria one of the most entertaining teams to watch during the competition.

Individually, Ademola Lookman also made history after being named the Best Playmaker of the Tournament. The Atalanta winger recorded four assists, playing a key role in Nigeria’s attacking flow and chance creation. His vision, movement, and decision-making were crucial to the Super Eagles’ success in several matches.

In addition, Nigeria dominated possession statistics, recording the highest average ball possession at 66 percent, showing their ability to control games.
