The Joint Union Action Committee, JUAC, has insisted that its ongoing strike has not been suspended, dismissing claims by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, that the industrial action has been resolved. The union said workers are still fully on strike across affected offices.
JUAC explained that the issues that led to the strike, including welfare concerns and outstanding demands, have not been adequately addressed. According to the union, no formal agreement has been reached with the FCTA to warrant a return to work.
Reacting to the FCTA’s statement, JUAC leaders described it as misleading and capable of confusing the public. They stressed that workers were not consulted before the announcement and urged authorities to engage sincerely with union representatives.
The union called on the FCTA to return to the negotiation table and resolve all pending issues in good faith. JUAC also appealed to workers to remain united and law-abiding while the strike continues until their demands are met.
