Nigerian rapper Jeriq has shared a powerful story about how music helped change the direction of his life. The Enugu-born artist revealed that without music, he could have ended up in serious trouble or even prison. According to him, music became an escape and a source of purpose at a critical time.
Speaking during a recent interview, Jeriq explained that growing up was not easy and that the streets exposed young people to many negative influences. He said music gave him focus and kept him busy, helping him avoid bad company and poor decisions.
The rapper added that writing and performing music allowed him to express his struggles and emotions in a positive way. Instead of channeling his anger or frustration into crime, he poured everything into his craft, which later opened doors for him in the music industry.
Jeriq encouraged young people facing similar challenges to find something meaningful to hold on to. He stressed that talent, discipline, and consistency can change lives, adding that music did not just give him fame, but also saved his future.
