Dorayi killings: Suspect’s father calls for speedy execution of his son

The father of Umar Auwalu, the main suspect in the Dorayi killings in Kano, has publicly called on the government to quickly try his son and ensure he faces the full weight of the law. Speaking on a local radio station, Mallam Auwalu said people like his son should not be allowed to remain in society, stressing that firm action is needed to restore peace.

According to him, the crime has deeply affected the community, and justice should not be delayed. He said his son’s actions show a pattern of dangerous behaviour and claimed he suspects Umar may have been involved in another killing in Dorayi Hausa last month. Mallam Auwalu added that this raises serious concerns about other possible crimes.

The grieving father explained that he believes Umar has committed several offences that were previously unknown. Now that he has been arrested, he said the law should take its course without interference. He insisted that punishment must be clear and decisive to serve as a warning to others.

Mallam Auwalu also cautioned against delays in the trial, expressing fear that political influence could lead to forgiveness or a reduced sentence. He urged the authorities to act quickly and fairly, saying that justice for the victims is important for the safety and sanity of the wider society.
