Benue to strengthen ties with FG, World Bank for women’s economic project

The Benue State Government has announced plans to strengthen its partnership with the Federal Government and the World Bank to support a women-focused economic development project. The move is aimed at improving livelihoods and expanding opportunities for women across the state.

State officials said the collaboration will focus on skills development, access to finance, and support for small businesses owned by women. By working closely with national and international partners, Benue hopes to create sustainable programmes that can lift more women out of poverty.

According to the government, empowering women economically is key to driving overall development in the state. Officials noted that when women are supported, families become more stable and communities grow stronger, leading to long-term economic benefits.

The renewed partnership with the FG and the World Bank is expected to unlock funding, technical expertise, and policy support. Residents and stakeholders have welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that it will translate into real opportunities for women, especially in rural areas of Benue State.
