Afrobeats star Davido has explained why he carried out a DNA test on a teenage girl, Aanu Adeleke, who claimed to be his daughter. The issue began after the girl shared an open letter online, saying she was being bullied in school and asking Davido to confirm if he was her biological father.

In response, Davido revealed that he had already conducted DNA tests on the girl in the past. According to him, a total of five tests were done at different medical centres, and all the results showed that he is not her father. He also stated that he has never met the girl’s mother and questioned the basis of the claim.

Davido’s explanation sparked debate online, with many people asking why he would agree to multiple DNA tests if he had no personal connection with the woman involved. Some critics also questioned his earlier threat of legal action against the girl and her mother.

Reacting to the criticism, Davido clarified that the decision to do the DNA tests was not entirely his. He said his father insisted on it, stressing that the Adeleke family takes matters of blood lineage very seriously. According to him, the tests were done to put the issue to rest once and for all.
