Nigerian singer Harrysong has spoken openly about how his long-running dispute with fellow artiste and former label boss, Kcee, negatively affected his music career. The singer, whose real name is Harrison Okiri, said the conflict distracted him and slowed down his creative growth during that period.
Harrysong and Kcee fell out in 2017 after the singer accused 5ive Star Music of withholding his royalties, treating him unfairly, and limiting his creative freedom. The disagreement later escalated after Harrysong claimed he contributed to several hit songs recorded by Kcee, leading to public exchanges between both parties.
In a recent interview with Jusmen 105.7 FM, Harrysong explained that the feud took his focus away from music. He said that instead of spending time recording songs, he was often busy thinking about how to respond to Kcee and continue the argument, which affected his creativity and productivity as an artiste.
However, Harrysong revealed that the dispute has now been resolved and that he has grown stronger from the experience. He said he has developed a tougher mindset and no longer allows controversies to distract him, adding that his focus is now fully on making good music and rebuilding his career.
