Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has paid glowing tribute to members of Nigeria’s Armed Forces in celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. He described the men and women of the military as true heroes who gave their lives and comfort to protect the country and its people.

Sani said the day is a moment for Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifices of both past and present soldiers who endured hardship, long separation from their families, and dangerous missions in the line of duty. He noted that many paid the ultimate price so that the nation could enjoy peace and security.

According to him, the bravery and commitment of the armed forces form the foundation of Nigeria’s stability and progress. He stressed that without their dedication, the country would not be able to function as a united and safe nation.

In his message on social media, Sani urged Nigerians to continue honouring and appreciating the military, not only on remembrance days but at all times. He called on citizens to support and respect the armed forces as they continue to defend the nation’s peace and sovereignty.
