Rivers: Tinubu controls Lagos from palms of his hands – Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has expressed support for Nyesom Wike amid his political rivalry with his former godson, Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Speaking in an interview with Arise Television on Tuesday, Fayose claimed that President Bola Tinubu wields full control over Lagos State from “the palm of his hands.”

Fayose argued that the current Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, cannot claim to be the true political leader of Lagos. He cited examples where Tinubu influenced key political changes, including the restoration of the Lagos State Speaker after an impeachment, demonstrating the President’s authority in the state.

The former governor also reflected on loyalty and ingratitude in politics, noting that many who advise others to fight back often abandon them when challenges arise. He used this point to underscore the importance of recognizing Tinubu’s influence in Lagos politics.

Fayose concluded by urging Lagosians and political observers not to be misled by appearances, emphasizing that Tinubu remains the central figure controlling the political landscape of Lagos, while Sanwo-Olu lacks the authority to declare himself the leader.
