TCN extends outage, dashes hopes of power restoration in Taraba

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has extended the ongoing power outage in Taraba State, disappointing residents who were expecting electricity to be restored soon. The company announced that technical challenges have made it impossible to meet the earlier restoration timeline.

According to TCN, repair work on damaged transmission facilities is taking longer than expected due to difficult terrain and the need to replace critical equipment. Engineers are still working on the fault, but the company says safety and quality repairs must come before speed.

The prolonged blackout has affected homes, businesses, hospitals, and schools across the state. Many residents have expressed frustration, saying the extended outage has increased their cost of living as they now rely on generators and alternative energy sources.

TCN has appealed to the public for patience, assuring Taraba residents that all efforts are being made to restore power as soon as possible. The company promised to keep the public informed and restore electricity once the repairs are fully completed and tested.
