At least two people are feared dead and several others were kidnapped when armed bandits attacked a wedding convoy in Katsina State. The incident took place in Unguwar Nagunda community, Kankara Local Government Area, late Sunday night as guests were arriving from nearby Mabai village.

Security analyst Bakatsine reported on social media that some wedding attendees were also injured, including the bride, as the gunmen opened fire on the convoy. Panic spread across the community as residents tried to flee the violence.

The exact number of those abducted remains unclear, with families still struggling to account for their loved ones. The attack has left the community tense and fearful, raising concerns over safety and the growing threat of banditry in the area.

As of the time of reporting, the Katsina State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the attack. Residents are calling for urgent security interventions to prevent further incidents and ensure the safe return of the kidnapped victims.
