Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for taking an extended vacation, describing it as a case of neglect rather than proper governance. Obi made the remarks while addressing recent developments in the nation’s leadership.
He argued that prolonged absences from official duties undermine public confidence and stall key government projects. According to Obi, leadership requires consistent presence and engagement, and extended leaves can create governance gaps that affect the nation’s progress.
Obi also emphasized that citizens expect their leaders to prioritize national responsibilities over personal comfort. He warned that continuous inaction or absence by top officials could worsen existing challenges, including security, economic management, and public service delivery.
The former presidential hopeful urged the Federal Government to ensure that leadership duties are not compromised by personal vacations, stressing that accountability and commitment remain critical for effective governance in Nigeria.
