Wike returns to FCT after 17 days in Rivers

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has returned to Abuja after spending 17 days in Rivers State on a political thank-you tour across several local government areas. The visit allowed him to reconnect with supporters and strengthen his political base in the state.

During the tour, Wike openly spoke about national politics and his plans ahead of the 2027 general elections. He reiterated his commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid and promoted what he described as a “rainbow coalition” involving both the APC and the PDP in Rivers State.

The former governor also used the opportunity to address political tensions in the state, particularly his rivalry with Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He warned that public declarations of support for President Tinubu alone would not guarantee any politician automatic access to party tickets or political favours.

After concluding his engagements in Port Harcourt, Wike departed for Abuja to resume his official duties as FCT Minister. His media aide, Lere Olayinka, confirmed the return in a social media post, noting that the minister had completed his planned visits across the state.
