Cameroon football legend and federation president, Samuel Eto’o, has sent a message of encouragement to the national team coach, David Pagou, following Cameroon’s exit from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after their loss to host nation Morocco. The defeat ended Cameroon’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals of the tournament.
Despite the disappointment, Eto’o praised the team and coaching crew for their effort and fighting spirit throughout the competition. He said football is about both winning and learning, adding that the experience gained from the tournament would help the team grow stronger in future competitions.
Eto’o urged Coach Pagou and the players not to be discouraged by the loss, noting that setbacks are part of the game. He stressed the importance of unity, patience and continued hard work as Cameroon looks ahead to rebuilding and preparing for upcoming international fixtures.
The former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker also thanked Cameroonian fans for their support, promising that the federation would continue working to strengthen the team and restore Cameroon’s strong presence on the African football stage.
