Fubara: Spirit of Wike’s PDP can’t be transferred into our party, we reject it – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has rejected claims that the “spirit” of former Governor Nyesom Wike’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can be carried into the APC. State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and party leaders said that the APC operates on its own principles and will not adopt practices associated with Wike’s administration.

Speaking at a party meeting, Fubara emphasised that the APC is focused on its policies, structure, and governance model. He warned that attempts to import PDP tactics or influence would not be tolerated, saying, “The spirit of PDP belongs to PDP; it cannot be transferred into APC.”

The governor also highlighted the achievements of the APC government in Rivers State, urging party members to remain united and committed to the party’s vision. He stressed that internal cohesion and adherence to APC’s rules are key to sustaining its leadership in the state.

Political analysts note that the statement signals a clear rejection of Wike’s influence within Rivers APC. By drawing a line between the two parties, Fubara and the APC leadership aim to consolidate power and assert their independence from opposition strategies and narratives.
