Enugu Gov Mbah flags off APC e-registration, targets 2 million members

Governor Peter Mbah has launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration in Enugu State, saying the party wants to register at least two million members. The flag-off took place in Owo, Nkanu East Local Government Area. Mbah said the exercise marks a new political direction for Enugu and ends what he called years of divided politics that kept the state away from federal opportunities.

The governor explained that Enugu must now align clearly with the ruling party at the centre to attract more federal attention and development. He said states that give stronger political support usually get better access to federal programmes and projects. According to him, the move is not about personal ambition but about positioning Enugu to benefit more from national policies and partnerships.

Mbah also said the APC movement in Enugu is meant to strengthen, not replace, existing party members. He added that President Bola Tinubu’s programmes, especially the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, would soon begin to impact households directly by reducing poverty and supporting grassroots communities across the country.

APC leaders who attended the event said the e-registration is designed to modernise the party and build a reliable digital database. They explained that the system will capture accurate information, including National Identification Numbers, to help the party plan better and understand its true support base ahead of future elections.
