Nigerian troops have successfully rescued six people who were kidnapped by armed criminals in parts of Kaduna State. The rescue operation followed a security raid carried out after intelligence reports indicated the location where the victims were being held.
According to security sources, the troops engaged the kidnappers during the operation, forcing them to flee and abandon the captives. The rescued victims were immediately taken to safety and given medical attention before being reunited with their families.
The military said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to reduce kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities in Kaduna and the wider North-West region. Residents have been urged to continue sharing useful information with security agencies to help improve response time and prevent further attacks.
Community leaders in the area praised the troops for the successful operation and called for sustained security presence to discourage criminals from returning. They also appealed to the government to invest more in intelligence gathering and community policing.
