Gunmen have kidnapped a medical doctor and his brother in Edo State on New Year’s Day, causing fear and anger in the community. The incident reportedly happened along a busy road when the victims were travelling, showing that criminal attacks are still happening even during festive periods.
Residents said the attackers stopped the vehicle, forced the two men out and took them away to an unknown location. The gunmen were said to be heavily armed, which made it impossible for passers-by to intervene or resist them.
Security agencies have been alerted and a search operation has reportedly begun to rescue the victims and arrest those responsible. Community leaders and family members are appealing for urgent action, saying such attacks are becoming too common and dangerous.
The incident has renewed calls for stronger security in Edo State and across the country. Many Nigerians are now urging the government to take tougher steps against kidnapping and violent crimes to protect innocent citizens.
