The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has urged Nigerians to remain alert and actively demand accountability from those in leadership as the new year begins. The party said citizens should not relax simply because elections are over but must continue to monitor how public officials use power and resources.
In its New Year message, YPP stressed that democracy only works when people take responsibility for asking questions and demanding results. The party encouraged Nigerians to follow government actions, speak up against wrongdoing, and insist on transparency in public spending and policies.
YPP also called on leaders at all levels to remember that they were elected to serve the people. According to the party, honest leadership, respect for the rule of law, and proper use of public funds are key to building trust and improving national development.
The party concluded by encouraging Nigerians to remain peaceful, united, and hopeful in the new year. It said that through active citizenship and responsible leadership, the country can move towards better governance and a stronger democracy.
