Otedola sells shares in Geregu Power for N1trn

Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola has sold a portion of his shares in Geregu Power Plc in a transaction valued at about ₦1 trillion. The sale is considered one of the largest single deals in the Nigerian stock market recently and has drawn attention from investors and market analysts.

The shares were sold through the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), where Geregu Power is publicly listed. Analysts said the transaction reflects strong confidence in the energy sector and the growing valuation of Geregu Power since its listing on the stock market.

Despite selling some of his shares, Otedola still retains a significant stake in the company. Experts suggest that the sale may be part of a strategy to diversify his investments, raise funds for other ventures, or take advantage of favorable market conditions.

The deal has increased trading activity and highlighted Geregu Power’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading power companies. Investors are closely monitoring the company’s performance to see how this major share sale may influence the broader market.
