Gov Zulum presents N890bn 2026 budget

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has presented a ₦890 billion budget proposal for the 2026 financial year to the State House of Assembly. The governor said the budget is designed to speed up development, rebuild communities affected by insecurity, and improve the living standards of people across the state.

Zulum explained that a large part of the budget will go into infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and security. He said roads, schools, hospitals, and farming support will be prioritised to help both urban and rural communities benefit from government spending.

The governor also noted that the budget focuses strongly on economic recovery and job creation, especially for youths and women. He said the government plans to support small businesses, expand vocational training, and improve access to credit so more people can become self-reliant.

Lawmakers welcomed the budget presentation and promised to study it carefully before approval. Many residents have expressed hope that the proposed spending will translate into better services, stronger security, and lasting development for Borno State in 2026.
