Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has reacted with sympathy after news broke that world boxing star Anthony Joshua was in a road accident in Ogun State yesterday. In a post on his official X account, Atiku said he was deeply saddened by the crash, which happened along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the Makun area. He made clear that his thoughts were with Joshua as he recovers. 

Atiku wrote that he stands in full solidarity with Joshua during this hard time, and he prayed for the boxer’s quick and complete healing. He described Joshua as a strong figure and said he hoped the athlete would regain his health soon. This message has been shared widely on social media, with many supporters echoing similar prayers. 

The former vice-president did not stop with Joshua; he also offered his deepest condolences to the families of the two people who tragically lost their lives in the same crash. Atiku asked that their loved ones find peace and strength amid their grief, saying the loss was heartbreaking for all Nigerians.

While Joshua reportedly suffered only minor injuries, the focus remains on helping the injured recover and comforting the families of the deceased.
