One shot as bandits attack Baidi village in Sokoto

Chaos erupted in Baidi village, Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, when armed bandits attacked residents during the Isha prayer on Sunday night. One person was reportedly shot, while several shops and a phone-charging point were looted during the assault.

Security analyst Bakatsine shared details of the attack on X, explaining that the gunmen stormed the community and carried out the raid. Fearing further attacks, many residents reportedly fled their homes as the bandits left the area.

Baidi village is located approximately three kilometers from Tangaza town, highlighting the proximity of such attacks to populated areas. The incident underscores the ongoing security challenges facing rural communities in Sokoto State.

As of the time of reporting, no official statement has been issued by security authorities regarding the attack. Residents are appealing for increased security measures to prevent future incidents.
