Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has denied reports that he plans to dump his party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. He described the rumours as false and misleading, urging Nigerians not to be distracted by political propaganda. According to him, he remains focused on his political ideals and the vision he has continued to share with supporters across the country.
Obi explained that he has not held any meeting with the leadership of the ADC about joining the party and has not given anyone the impression that he is leaving the Labour Party. He warned that such stories are usually spread to create confusion among voters and weaken the opposition ahead of major elections.
The former Anambra State governor stressed that his main concern is about building a better Nigeria through good governance, accountability, and people-centred leadership, not about jumping from one political party to another. He said Nigerians should pay attention to issues that affect their daily lives rather than gossip about political movements.
Obi assured his supporters that he would always communicate directly with them if there is any major political decision to be taken. He advised Nigerians to rely on credible sources for political information and avoid spreading unverified reports, especially on social media.
