Senator Ali Ndume has urged the Nigerian Government and the United States to extend their ongoing military airstrikes against terrorist groups to the Northeast region of Nigeria. According to him, the expansion is necessary to combat the rising insecurity and protect civilians in areas prone to attacks.

Ndume emphasized that terrorists continue to exploit gaps in security across the Northeast, causing fear and disrupting daily life. He stated that coordinated strikes could significantly weaken insurgent groups and reduce attacks on local communities.

The senator highlighted that while the recent operations in other regions have been effective, the Northeast still faces severe challenges, and a focused approach is needed to stabilize the area. He called for timely collaboration between Nigerian forces and international partners.

Ndume’s comments come amid growing public concern over repeated attacks in the Northeast. Lawmakers and security experts believe that extending military action will reinforce national security and restore confidence among residents of affected states.
