Jigawa governor pledges full support for transparent LG councils

The Jigawa State Governor has pledged his administration’s full support for transparent and accountable local government councils across the state. He said his government is committed to ensuring that resources meant for grassroots development are properly managed and used for the benefit of the people.

The governor made the promise while speaking at a meeting with local government officials, where he emphasized that transparency and good governance are key to building public trust. According to him, councils that operate openly will attract more support and cooperation from citizens.

He noted that the state government will continue to provide guidance, monitoring, and capacity-building programmes to help local councils improve their financial management and service delivery. This, he said, will reduce corruption and improve development outcomes at the community level.

The governor urged local council chairmen and officials to see transparency not as a burden but as a responsibility to the people. He assured residents that his administration would not tolerate misuse of public funds and would reward councils that show integrity and efficiency.
