Kano, neighbouring states strengthen joint patrols, intelligence sharing to tackle insecurity

Kano State and its neighbouring states have agreed to strengthen joint security patrols and share intelligence to tackle rising insecurity across the region. The decision was reached after a series of meetings among security agencies and government officials aimed at improving safety for residents.

The collaboration will involve joint patrols across state borders, better communication among security operatives, and quicker sharing of information on criminal movements. This approach is expected to help security agencies respond faster to threats and prevent criminals from escaping from one state to another.

Officials explained that insecurity does not respect state boundaries, which makes regional cooperation necessary. By working together, the states hope to close security gaps and create a safer environment for businesses, travelers and local communities.

Residents and community leaders have welcomed the move, saying it will restore confidence and reduce fear in affected areas. Security agencies have also urged the public to support the initiative by reporting suspicious activities and cooperating with law enforcement officers.
