FCTA releases hotlines for residents to report uncleared waste

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has introduced special hotlines for residents to report waste that has not been cleared in their areas. The move is part of efforts to improve cleanliness and respond faster to sanitation problems across Abuja and its surrounding communities.

According to the FCTA, the phone numbers will allow residents to directly alert authorities whenever refuse remains uncollected for long periods. Once reports are received, relevant waste management teams will be notified to take quick action and prevent health risks.

Officials said the initiative will also help the government monitor waste contractors and ensure they carry out their duties properly. By involving residents, the FCTA hopes to create a cleaner environment and reduce complaints about poor waste collection services.

Residents have been advised to use the hotlines responsibly and give clear details of their locations when reporting issues. The administration also urged the public to continue proper waste disposal habits as collective cooperation is needed to keep the capital city clean.
