Fear grips residents as two suspected ISWAP terrorists arrested in Lagos

Residents in parts of Lagos were thrown into fear and uncertainty after security agencies arrested two men suspected to be members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). The arrest, which took place during a coordinated security operation, has raised fresh concerns about the presence of terror networks in major Nigerian cities.

According to security sources, the suspects were picked up following credible intelligence reports linking them to extremist activities. The operation was carried out discreetly to avoid panic, but news of the arrest later spread across the affected communities, leaving many residents worried about their safety.

Authorities assured the public that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing investigation. Security agencies emphasized that the arrest shows their commitment to tracking and dismantling terror cells before they can carry out any attacks, especially in densely populated areas like Lagos.

Residents have been advised to remain calm but vigilant, while also cooperating with security operatives by reporting suspicious movements. The government reiterated that intelligence-led operations will continue nationwide to prevent terrorism and protect lives and property.
