PDP sets up Zamfara Caretaker Committee

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the formation of a Caretaker Committee for its Zamfara State chapter. The move comes as part of efforts to stabilize party operations in the state ahead of upcoming political activities. Party leaders emphasized that the committee will oversee organizational matters and ensure effective coordination among members.

The newly constituted committee is expected to manage day-to-day affairs, address internal disputes, and prepare the party for future elections. It will also work closely with national and state leadership to implement policies and strengthen grassroots structures. The PDP hopes this initiative will enhance party unity in Zamfara.

State party members have welcomed the decision, expressing optimism that the caretaker committee will bring stability and renewed focus. Leaders noted that the committee will also serve as a platform to groom capable leaders and ensure fair representation for all factions within the state.

The PDP’s national leadership assured party members that the Caretaker Committee is a temporary measure aimed at fostering cohesion and transparency. It represents a strategic effort to position the party strongly ahead of 2027 elections while maintaining functional and responsive party governance at the state level.
