The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s 2026 budget, saying it will help curb terrorism and criminal activities across Nigeria. Party officials stated that the budget prioritizes security and funding for agencies tasked with combating armed groups and criminal networks.
According to the Lagos APC, increased investment in intelligence, border security, and modern policing will disrupt the operations of terrorist groups and other non-state actors. The party highlighted that the budget also strengthens the Armed Forces and other security agencies, ensuring better response to violent crimes.
The APC further noted that targeting the financial and operational networks of criminals, as outlined in the budget, will reduce kidnappings, banditry, and other forms of violent crime. They described the 2026 Appropriation Bill as a “comprehensive plan” that links security, social development, and economic growth.
Party leaders urged Nigerians to support the budget and the government’s efforts, emphasizing that a secure nation is essential for prosperity and development. They also called on lawmakers to expedite the passage of the budget to ensure timely implementation of security-focused projects.
