The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has warmly received Governor Caleb Mutfwang following his reported defection to the party. Party leaders described the move as a major boost for APC in the state, saying it reflects growing confidence in the party’s leadership and direction at both state and national levels.
In a statement issued by the Plateau APC leadership, the party said Governor Mutfwang’s decision would help strengthen unity and political stability in the state. The party noted that the governor’s experience and grassroots support would play a key role in deepening governance reforms and accelerating development across Plateau.
APC leaders also pledged their “unalloyed support” for Governor Mutfwang, assuring him of cooperation from party members and stakeholders. They emphasized that internal reconciliation efforts would be intensified to ensure a smooth integration of the governor and his supporters into the APC family.
The party further expressed optimism that the defection would reposition APC for stronger electoral performance in future polls.
